Interview with Tomo Asaha of Ecostream

Thank you very much to give us a time for this interview.
I'd like to ask you about the live at the WEBSTER HALL and about 2 call signal with melodies that you sell on the Internet.

What was the concept of that project?
『It was held by KarateRice, an American event company. The concept was an assimilation of electric and rock. 』
What as the most difficult point or the things that you needed to care about?
『Well, It is very common in New York, we were pushed for time. It is different from convention. Also we were in caught up in the traffic accident. So we had to start playing immediately when we reached the hall. It was a hurried live.』

Can you see the individual audience's faces' from the stage?
『It is depend on the light condition. But I can see the faces near the stage. But I cannot see the people who are in back. I know they are there. But it is only a black shadow. So I want the audiences to come up to the front. However it will be dangerous to push. So of course I want them to care and have morals to enjoy the lives.』
Do you have any unforgettable happenings?
『Well, It had been a long time to have a concert in the indies scene in New York, I could felt the feeling of the playing in a live house. In my image, New York is the difficult city to play. Because, there are many different races and many different cultures. It is not easy to play to satisfy the listeners among them.』
I've heard from other artists that they would have a lot of accidents about the machineries or the materials behind the stage.(bitter smile) So have you ever had that kind of experiences? How about this time?
『I have so many experiences like that. My band uses a computer and this time, its condition was very bad. The keybord and the electric drum are connected to PC. But sometimes the sound was died away. It is accompaniment to use these kinds of machines. So we need to have a skill to cope it, I think.』

『So we were pushed for the time, we formed to play 30 minutes.

At first we prepared 8 numbers set list but changed it necessarily. 』
How was the response from the audiences?
『I think that was good. There were many different types music in the event, so we saw various types of audiences. Naturally the people who came to see us even the others looked enjoyed our play. We could talk to some new people. 』
In Japan, Many fans present their favorite artists at the concert. They present tobacco, confectionaries, alcohol and so on. How about in America? Do you have a impressed presents, or surprising one?
『So, I am presented cookies and juice and so on. So one of my funs sent a carton of tobacco to my fan letter's address. I was surprised but it helped me a lot. Because tobaccos are expensive in New York. (smile)』
You will have a next live at Club Europe in New York on May 2nd. Well please tell us about its details. Will you have any lives before of it?
『We won't organize the live but we will be a head liner of it. The line ups are order to play, J'amie & I, NoirceuR, Typherus, Geist and Echostream. There will be 5 bands. The ticket is $10 for all ages. Also the May 2nd is a day of the Cherry Blossoms Festival in Brooklyn. It is a festival of Japan so Japanese bands and the bans inspired of Japanese bands or so are corrected for the event.』
(10)Will you tell us about other members? How have they been?
『We have been making our 3 new albums.
The one of them is so emotional electric sounds.
The one of others takes account of the feeling of real concert. Its concept is rock tasted sound.
The last one will be a challenge for us to be in conflict with to pursuit new and return to our origin. I hope that each members will be able to play as an artist not only a player.』
