~ Basic Visual Kei Make-Up Tutorial~
Japanese style make-up is one of the most unique of its kind in the world, especially in the music industry. Visual Kei make-up (Eroguro, Oshare, Kote Kote, etc.) being the most prominent and outlandish of all. This eccentric style is rapidly gaining popularity overseas, due to websites such as Youtube and Blogspot. Videos, like the one I made above, go up on sites like these almost everyday, mainly by fans of the music who also take interest in the fashion aspect of the bands. For the record, this is my first time making a video like this (bare with me please!), but not my first time applying the make-up. Enjoy!
Face:
Before even allowing make-up to touch your face, be sure that it is freshly washed and/or moisterized, then apply your normal foundation. Tip: If using liquid foundation, use a slightly damp sponge to apply it.
...
Eyes:Use a regular black eyeliner pencil to outline the area for the black filling, which should be just above your crease and about half an inch from the outer corner of the eye. Fill in the space with the pencil, creating a good base for your black eyeshadow.
Dip an eyeshadow brush in the black eyeshadow and pat it around the area previously filled in. If any excess powder gets under your eyes, just use a thick bristled blush brush to wipe it away.
Now, depending on your preference of color (Mine being Purple), take a wide-set eyeshadow brush and apply the color to the upper part of the black nearest to your nose.
Finally, layer on some mascara for a dramatic finish to your eyes!
~NOTE~
This point would be a good chance to add some accessories like face jewels or other facial designs around the eye area, but since I had none, and not much time, I didn't do that.
Lips:
A steady hand is the key when lining your lips (especially in black!), so go very slowly around the edges. Make the liner a bit thicker at the edges of your mouth. Tip: I would recommend using a creme stick liner, because it keeps the liner from feathering out of your lip line.
Use a firm lip brush to paint in the color of lipstick you want (much easier to apply than from a lipstick tube) being careful not to overlap the black liner.
And voila! There you have the basics of Visual Kei make-up (not to be confused as "scene" or "emo" please).

@Denver: I know it looks like it at first, but it's really quite easy once you get the hang of it. It typically takes me about 5 minutes to put it on =)
@VBRE: Thank you! All you have to do is reaserch, youtube is a great place to start ^_^
@Gary Moriales & Joe Azack: Thank you!
