Review of BLOOD's Lost Sky

Written by guest writer Tensei.

This time, the album up for my review is "Lost Sky" by BLOOD; this is an industrial rock fan's best friend. "Lost Sky" is made up of fast paced music with soft, haunting vocals that compliment the music extraordinarily well. Despite the modern synth that is accompanied by killer guitar and bass, the arrangements obviously have a gothic feel to them.

As an added bonus that this album features, the title song shows up several/seven times again, in the form of intricate remixes filling your ears with artistic melodies. Seemingly the listener is pulled into a realm of neverending bliss. Even though each remix uses "Lost Sky" as a base, the remixes are adequately made to the point that "Lost Sky" doesn't get old. Perhaps each remix gives the album a different identity to evoke a different emotion or feeling from the listener. The most unique version of the song out of the batch is "Lost Sky (Broken Lullaby remix)."

The identity of the ablum is primarily on the industrial/electronic side; so if you're looking for mind blowing guitar riffs or solos then perhaps "Lost Sky" is not for you. While the remixes do not get old and are very well done, it's kind of a downer that you don't get remixes of the rest of the songs on the album, instead of just the title song. Despite these problems the guitar that IS present is mixed into the arrangements well, and the album would be a nice edition to anyone's J-rock collection.

P.S.
My favorite song on the album is "BLOOD (Uninvited Guest Remix)."
