Interview with Daisuke of THE SOUND BEE HD!

1. Please introduce yourselves and your positions in the band?

Daisuke: How do you do? I'm DAISUKE, vocalist and composer of THE SOUND BEE HD.

2. What is the meaning of your name THE SOUND BEE HD?

Daisuke: Because SOUND and BEE are my favorite words. To me, sound means "making music and songs", and  I know bees are so small, but they can incur fear in us humans who are bigger than them. They are so cool because they have a deadly sting.

Daisuke: Well, I formed THE SOUND BEE HD myself! I made it after finishing with my solo project. My close friends helped by recommending the other members for me.

4. You released your third album [Hachi] on May 12, 2010. What inspired the creation of the album?

Daisuke: Traditional Japanese sound, music, songs, and monsters (like from old Japanese horror stories)!

5. The theme of [Hachi] is Japanese Goth, how would you describe what Japanese Goth is?

Daisuke: I believe it to be the mixture of Traditional Japanese sounds and fashion, with heavy electrical sounds!

6. Is the style in which you dress and wear your makeup Japanese Goth as well?

Daisuke: Yes, I think so!

7. You held a memorial live on June 19th to celebrate 10 years as a band, how does it feel to have been around for a decade?

Daisuke: The memorial live was so exciting and fantastic! I did not feel that our ten years together were very long, because every day was an adventure!
8. 10 years ago when you first began, did you set any goals for the band and have you achieved any or all of them?

Daisuke: I’ve wanted to play in foreign countries for some time, and maybe my dream will come true this autumn.

9. Do you have any new goals you wish to achieve in 2010?

Daisuke: Yes, of course. I always have many new goals, and I will tell you two of them. The mini-album will be released this October, and we will perform in USA  this November as well!! (AN: At Nekocon13, Nov. 5-7th, 2010)

10. Have the style and sound of your music changed much since you first began?

Daisuke: I believe there are no changes in our sound of music, though our style of clothing and make-up change all the time.

11. Do you ever experiment with different sounds?

Daisuke: Yes, always! I experiment with many different sounds most of the time.

12. Are there any messages you convey in your music?

Daisuke: Yes! For this past album [Hachi], I wanted to tell you about the sorrow, solitude, conflict, and despair when loving anyone.

13. What are the member’s favorite songs from any current to past albums/singles?

Daisuke: I cannot choose any one song. I love all of my songs!  Please let me know which of the songs your favorites are!

14. Out of all of your songs which one would you like someone who just discovered THE SOUND BEE HD to listen to first?

Daisuke: I will recommend to you the new album [Hachi]! If you like our music when you listen to [Hachi], please try [MUTATION] next, and then [UCHUSEN (single CD)] please!

15. Besides Japan what other countries do you wish to perform live in?

Daisuke: I want to perform live all over the world!

16. What do you enjoy most about performing live?

Daisuke: I always enjoy the audience's reaction and our satisfaction after the live.

17. What are your favorite places to perform at?

Daisuke: In every time, in everywhere!!!! If there are our sounds, the place will be the great and cool one!

18. Do you have any special memories from past performances?

Daisuke: The memorial live on June 19th to celebrate 10 years as a band was so amazing! Even all of the past members of THE SOUND BEE HD were there and helped perform some songs. So there were four drummers, five guitarists, one vocalist, and one bassist! We enjoyed that very much!

19. What can fans expect from THE SOUND BEE HD in the near future?

Daisuke: We will promise you that we will keep making cool, exciting, and fantastic music; as well as stage performances!
